Hey Jamie!
When it comes to playing an instrument you might think that the most important thing is spending hours and hours in your practice room, but, the sounds first need to be in your head and then once they are you can learn the tools to make them come out of your own guitar. Otherwise, how do you know what you want to be able to eventually do? And how do you think they get in your head? By listening to great artists!
Have a listen.
Nails:

Here are just some ideas about nail shapes. We’ll play about with different ideas when I’m back, but it would be good if you watched bits and bobs online and done some research on it π
ABRSM Grade 1 Guitar – Scales and Arpeggios

Give these practice ideas a proper try over the next coming weeks…
-Choose a scale or arpeggio
-Look at it and work out all the information (notes, dynamics, fingerings etc…) without the guitar,
-VERY slowly (so you can feel every movement and have time to think about what you need to do) play it.
-If you come across a sticky section, lift it out and work at it (fingering, wrong note etc…), then put it back into the scale,
-Do 3 times with the score, and then 3 times from memory.
Don’t do more than 10 minutes on one scale without taking a break.
If you aim to do one scale every day or every other day, you’ll have them all under your fingers and feeling comfortable in no time.
…
In terms of pieces. Can you email me a picture of what you’re currently working on (it can be from that website you emailed be about) and I can upload a tutorial on it for you.
Happy playing!
K
